To compete in the Special Olympics competitions, minimum age restrictions may apply.
The Monarchs are a non-profit collaborative initiative to enable special needs ice skating and hockey.

The Monarchs offer two on-ice programs:
  • Learn to Skate
    • Learn basic skating skills as part of a group session
    • Skating assist devices can be made available
    • Skates and helmet are available from the ice rink (while supplies last)
    • On-ice coaches will determine the skater’s readiness to graduate into the hockey program
    • While we strive for one on one training in our Learn to Skate program, we rely on volunteers to help out on the ice
  • Learn to Play Hockey
    • Learn basic hockey skills as part of a group session (we may be able to provide buddies if needed)
    • Skates and helmets are available from the ice rink (while supplies last)
    • Hockey protective gear may be available to loan out depending on sizes available. All hockey players must wear a hockey helmet with full face cage and pads
    • Attend competitive games/tournaments (based on interest and availability)
  • Figure Skating (Coming Soon based on interest)
    • We are collecting information on interested participants. If there is enough demand, we will work to deliver this program. If you are interested, please email us at [email protected]

Feel free to distribute this flyer to anyone interested in The Monarchs!
